The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yesterday took five charges of crimes against humanity brought by the prosecution against five alleged war criminals from Moulvibazar, reports BSS.
The five accused are Shamsul Hossain Tarafdar alias Ashraf, Mohammad Nesar Ali, Yunus Ahmed, Mohammad Ujair Ahmed Chowdhury and Mobarok Bhuiyan. Of the five only Ujair and Yunus are in jail.
After taking the charges into cognizance, the tribunal set July 24 for holding hearing on charge framing. Prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon on May 26, 2016, submitted the formal charges against the five, bringing five specific charges of crimes against humanity.
Another reports adds: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yesterday recorded deposition of Abdul Jalil, a prosecution witness in the crimes against humanity case against alleged Razakar commanders from Shariatpur Sulaiman Mollah, 84, and Edris Ali Sarder alias Gazi Edris, 67.
