Centre for Asian Theatre (CAT) will stage yet another show Mv its 21st production titled ‘Macabre’, scripted by Anika Mahin and directed by Kamaluddin Nilu, today at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the city.
‘Macabre’ is an unconventional theatre performance with a huge number of technical devices, including videography, multi-screen projection technology, animation, 3D projection mapping and installation art, along with living art forms from the East and the West.
The theme is all about freedom, where all human beings are equal, irrespective of race, ethnicity and social status and have the same rights. The kernel of the performance text is penetration of death, which is a part of dystopia, where a society is characterised by human misery, immorality, oppression, disease, and overcrowding.
‘Macabre’ provides an arena where the audience gets an opportunity to experience contemporary theatre practice through a cross-cultural approach.
Where: BSA, Segun Bagicha
When: 7:30 pm, today.
