Sonali Bank won the battle of two underdogs when they edged past Sadharan Bima by 3-2 in the Premier Division Hockey League yesterday at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium.
In fact Sonali Bank came from a two goal deficit to down Bima in this closely contested match. Sonali Bank pushed their collection to seven points from eight matches, while Bima collected six points after completed their sixth round game.
Farhan Ali gave Bima an early lead in the 7th minute and he also doubled the lead in the 31st minute.
Sonali Bank gave an all account of themselves in the second half and took only one minute to return one goal though Rabbi Salehin Rockin. Tousef Ahmed produced the next two goals in a span of eight minutes to snatch a thrilling win.
