While his unbeaten 66 runs gave Mohammedan Sporting Club a comfortable victory over Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, it has also helped him go past 6000 runs landmark in List A cricket as the second Bangladeshi cricketer after Tamim Iqbal.
Mushfiqur reached the milestone when he reached 18 with a single off Muktar Ali in the extra cover region. He however didn’t stop until he took the side to the home. He touched the feat in 220 matches in which the diminutive man smashed seven centuries and 3 half-centuries.
Tamim is the first Bangladeshi batsman to reach the milestone in List A cricket. He too completed his 6000 runs in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
The batsman who is in the race of reaching the elite club is Shakib Al Hasan but the ace all-rounder is unlikely to touch the feat in this DPL as he has 5324 runs under his belt at the moment. Shakib will get five more matches in the super league phase and some extra ordinary effort in batting only could help him reach the milestone.
