Aiming to ensure fresh and safe food items during the holy month of Ramadan, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has strengthened its anti-adulteration drive through operating mobile court across the country, said Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, reports BSS.
“BSTI would continue the drive by operating additional mobile courts in Ramadan to keep strong vigilance on essential food items and drinks,” he said in a media briefing at his ministry conference room yesterday morning. Apart from Dhaka city, the minister said, the anti-adulteration drive would simultaneously be in Keraniganj, Savar, Ashulia, Dhamrai and other upazilas across the country.
“To ensure transparency of the drive run by district administration, RAB, DMP and APBN, participation of BSTI Prosecuting Officers has been ensured to avoid any question,” he added.
