DU admission tests begin from Oct 9
Dhaka University admission test for the first year honours courses for the 2015-2016 academic session will be started from October 9 and the online process for the admission will begin on August 20 and till September 6, said a university press release yesterday. The admission test of “Ka” unit under science faculty will be held on October 30, “Kha” unit under arts faculty on October 9, “Ga” unit under business faculty on October 16, “Gha” unit on November 6, and “Cha” unit under fine arts faculty on October 10.
Workshop on disaster management held
A workshop titled “Disaster Management and Environmental Safety” organised by Dhaka University Environment Society (DUES) began at Dhaka University on Friday. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the 7th workshop at the RC Majumdar Arts auditorium of the university. DU Vice-chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique addressed the inaugural ceremony as the special guest while Professor of Geography and Environment Department Touhid Rashid was the guest of honour. Rashed Khan Monon called upon the voluntary organisations like DUES to organise this kinds of workshop side by side with the government to enhance the country’s capacity to challenge disaster.
‘Skills for Life’ registration opens at ULAB
University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is going to organise a special short course titled ‘Skills for Life’ for students who have appeared in HSC or A-level exams in 2015. This is the 4th time ULAB is offering the one month (4-week) short course free of cost. The curriculum of the course includes materials which are rarely taught in educational institutions; set goals and overcome obstacles in everyday life. The students will also receive valuable tips for their desired career paths, social responsibility, savings planning and disaster preparedness. Registration for participating in the course is going on and it will close on July 9, 2015. Classes will start from July 23, 2015. The registration booth is open from Sunday to Thursday (9am to 5pm). Fruit festival held at DIU
The Social Business Student's Forum (SBSF) of Business Administration department of Daffodil International University (DIU) organised Fruit Festival-2015 in association with the Daffodil Startup Market on the campus recently, says a press release. The day long festival included Best Stall Competition, Fruits Eating Contest and distribution of Fruits to Street Children. The program was supported by the DIU Volunteer Service Club. M Lutfar Rahman, DIU vice-chancellor, inaugurated the festival as chief guest while Md Golam Rahman, pro-vice chancellor, Aminul Islam, founder vice chancellor & emeritus professor, were present among others. M Lutfar Rahman, vice-chancellor of Daffodil International University, visits a stall and interacts with students at a furit festival on the university campus in the capital recently.
