Narayan for fish farming to meet nutritional demand

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda, MP, here yesterday stressed the need for increasing fish farming to meet the nutritional demand of people, reports BSS from Khulna. He said the present government has put huge efforts in boosting fish production through proper utilisation of water bodies to attain self-reliance and meeting nutritional demand. He urged all to refrain from netting fish fries from the water bodies. The state minister was addressing as the chief guest at a fingerling release ceremony at the Moshiali Charabattala canal under Damodor Union of Fultala upazila in Khulna. Organised by upazila fisheries office, Fultala UNO Mohsina Akter Banu, senior assistant directors of the district fisheries department Amal Kanti Roy and S M Moniruzzaman, vice president of upazila unit Awami League Md. Ashraf Hossain Amu, general secretary Sarder Shahabuddin Zippi, joint secretary Mrinal Hazra, upazila senior officer A T M Toufiq Mahmud, among others, attended the programme.
