Khulna: Speakers at a workshop yesterday said the country’s over 4,500 Union Digital Centers (UDCs) have created an opportunity to accelerate the flow of grassroots information and expand outsourcing and e-commerce in villages, reports UNB.
Each UDC could become a mini Business Process Outsourcing Center (BPO) if its’ 10,000 entrepreneurs are provided proper training on writing news reports and features and outsourcing and e-commerce, they told the programme. The workshop was jointly organised by Trinomuler Tathyajanala (TTJ) Programme of ICT Division and Tathyaseba Barta Sangstha (TSB) at Khulna Teachers Training College. Presided over by TTJ programme director Dr Muhammed Mehdi Hasan, the function was addressed, among others, by Additional Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Mohammad Faruk Hossain, Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Hasan and Khulna Govt Teachers Training College principal Sajahan Miah.
They said enhancement of capacity and skills to write reports and features will make the 10,000 entrepreneurs as info leaders.
With the creation of info leaders, there will be free flow of grassroots information as they (info leaders) will write reports and features for the union parishad websites, UDC blogs, social media and local newspapers, the speakers said.
