Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive rescued an abducted child and arrested three alleged kidnappers yesterday. Talking to The Independent, Lt Col Tuhin Mohammad Masud, director of RAB-1, said the arrestees were identified as Abul Bashar, 35, Kawser, 25 and Rashel, 25. According to the sources, Abrar Hossain Sunny, 3, son of Monir Hossain, was abducted from Khilkhet area of the capital on June 17. Later, the kidnappers had demanded Tk 50, 000 as ransom from the victim’s family and threatened to kill the child if their demand is not met, the official said.
After getting complaint from the victim’s family, RAB started investigating the case and detained two employees of Monir, father of the victim.
During the primary interrogation, the arrestees admitted their alleged involvement in the abduction. Later, RAB rescued Abrar from a house in Comilla district on Sunday.
