92pc sanitation coverage in Mymensingh

Public Health and Engineering Dept (PHED) has achieved 92 per cent coverage in sanitation in all the 13 upazilas of the district, reports BSS from Mymensingh.
The upazilas are: Haluaghat, Dobaura, Trishal Bhaluka Gaargoan, Nandail, Ishwarganj, Gouripur, Phul pur, Tarakanda, Mymensingh Sadar, Muktagacha,and Phulbaria.
PHED sources said about 56 thousand tube-wells were installed in the district with a view to supply pure drinking water to the rural people.
The sources said installation works of 1,341 hand tube-wells have been continued under PEDP-3 projects in the district with a view to supply pure drinking water to the rural people.
Besides, PHED has constructed 573 wash-blocks one in each primary school for boy students and 675 wash-blocks were constructed in each primary school for the girls students.PHED has already achieved coverage in 92 per cent in the district.
