North West Power, Sembcorp sign deal today

The North West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL), under Power Division, will sign a contract with Singapore based Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd, at Bidyut Bhaban, Bhijoy Hall at 4.00pm today, reports BSS.
The agreement would be signed for Sirajganj 414 MW Duel Fuel Combined Cycle Power Plant (unit-4) under public-private partnership (PPP) method for implementation, power purchase, land lease, gas supply and fuel supply.
As per the contract the Duel Fuel Combined Cycle Power Plant of Sirajganj 414 MW (unit-4) would start its commercial operation from December 2018.
Prime Minister's Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Adviser Towfir-e-Elahi Chowdhury, is expected to attend  the signing ceremony as the chief guest, while State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid and Senior Adviser, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore and Non-Resident High Commissioner to Bangladesh Chan Heng Wing are also expected to present as the special guests.
