Workshop on brachial plexus injury starts at BSMMU
A three-day scientific workshop and live demonstration on brachial plexus injury started yesterday at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital.
BSMMU Orthopedic Surgery Department and Bangladesh Hand Surgery Society jointly organised the programme where at least 10 patients will be operated, said a press release.
BSMMU Vice -chancellor Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan inaugurated the workshop with Head of Orthopedic Surgery Department Dr Nakul Kumer Dutta in the chair. At least 70 orthopedic, plastic and hand surgeon are taking part at the workshop. The brachial plexus is the network of nerves that sends signals from spine to shoulder, arm and hand.
Seminar on management challenges at DU
Bangladesh MBA Association (BMBAA) organised a seminar on "Management Challenges for the 21st Centaury" at Dhaka University Institute of Business Administration (IBA) auditorium recently.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal joined the function as the chief guest while DU Pro-vice- chancellor (administration) Professor Shahid Akhtar Hossain and IBA Director AKM Saiful Majib addressed the function as the special guests.
Eastern University holds orientation
The orientation ceremonies for the students of undergraduate programme of the summer semester of Eastern University (EU) were held yesterday in the University Plaza at Dhanmondi in the capital, says a press release.
Shameem Ahsan, president, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Service (BASIS) attended the programme as the chief guest while Prof Abdur Rab, Vice -chancellor of EU presided over.
Among others, Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Pro-vice-chancellor; deans; advisers; chairpersons; registrar; teachers; officials and students were present in the programme.
MoU signed between AIUB, UAH, Spain
As a part of the participation at the IAUP Semi-Annual Meeting 2016, American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the host university, the University of Alcala (UAH) recently in Madrid, Spain, says a press release.
The collaboration covers a multitude of academic activities to be pursued by the universities, ranging from teaching to research to exchange programmes, all of which enables and encourages cultural diversity, personal and professional development of both its faculty members and students.
The Vice -chancellor of AIUB, Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna, and the President of UAH, Fernando GalvánReula signed the MoU on behalf of the respective universities.
The ceremony concluded with the promise of both institutions working proactively to realise the full potential of the collaboration and moving forward with the implementation of it soon.
