Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said 450 BRTC special buses will ply different roads to ensure smooth movement for home-bound people on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
In addition, 550 buses plying different routes will continue their operations, said the minister. He made the announcement at a views exchange meeting with officers-workers at BRTC’s Joar Sahara Bus Depot in the capital yesterday. The minister said it is the duty of BRTC officials to ensure smooth movement of the home-bound people during Eid.
He said necessary number of cranes and wreckers will keep ready for quick disposal of crashed vehicles if any accident taken place. 25 monitoring teams will be on duty for 24 hours on roads and highways, he added.
