Fake cigarette factory unearthed

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive unearthed a fake cigarette factory, seized a huge amount of fake cigarettes and cigarette making materials and sealed off the factory in Bonpara area of Baraigram upazila on Saturday, reports UNB. A team of RAB-5, led by ASP Jamal Al Naser, conducted the drive in the afternoon and detained Abdus Salam, the factory owner. Later, the elite force seized 90,000 packets of fake Gold Leaf cigarettes. The arrestee was handed over before a mobile court. Executive magistrate Jahid Newaz fined Salam Tk 2 lakh. Later the court sealed off the factory.
