Hindu Mahajote demands Salim Osman’s resignation

STAFF REPORTER

Bangladesh Jatiyo Hindu Mohajote (BJHM), the National Hindu Grand Alliance, yesterday demanded Narayanganj lawmaker AKM Salim Osman’s resignation from parliament, for humiliating senior school teacher Shyamal Kanti Bhakta. BJHM leaders said at present repression on Hindu minorities is being carried out through digital method. What Salim Osman did with Piyar Sattar Latif High School’s headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhakta is unprecedented.
“The lawmaker does not know how to honour a teacher. Now people of his area can live with dignity,” said Ananda Biswas, secretary general of BJHM. They were holding human chain and rally in front of the National Press Club in the capital in protest against the repressions on Hindu minorities centering the UP elections. The leaders alleged that the government failed entirely to ensure security for Hindu minority during UP elections. The Hindu people would think whether they would go to poll centres in the future. It is useless to for voting as there is not security for houses, temples. “Religious bigotry has left a quarter of people ignorant. Hindu people are always victim to political and communal vengeance that leads them leave the country.  If any aggression hurts the country it affects the Hindu minority and if election comes the attack on Hindu people turns into a grand festival, the hindu leaders alleged.
