Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote yesterday demanded resignation of AKM Salim Osman, MP, for publicly humiliating Narayanganj schoolteacher Shyamal Kanti Bhakta, reports UNB. The demand came from a human chain formed in front of the Jatiya Press Club protesting attacks on the Hindu community at different parts of the country centring on the ongoing Union Parishad polls. Speakers alleged that the government has completely failed to provide security to the Hindu voters although they had earlier demanded ensuring their protection. They also demanded bringing the perpetrators of the attacks to justice after a fair investigation forming a minority commission. They said they will announce a tougher movement if the attacks on the minority community continue and if the government does not take any action against those involved in earlier attacks. The programme was addressed, among others, by secretary general of the Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote Ananda Biswas, its executive president Sukiti Kumar, executive secretary general Palas Kanti Dey and chief coordinator of Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Jubo Mohajote Pankaj Halder with Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote chief coordinator Shyamal Kumar Roy in the chair.
