�Ghashful� to be screened at Shilpakala June 26

‘Ghashful’ (The Flower of Grass), a full-length feature film directed by Akram Khan, has been selected to be screened in the month of June as the part of a yearlong film festival titled ‘New Films, New Filmmakers’. The festival is being organised jointly by Moviyana Film Society and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). As many as seven films in three categories, those have been selected for this month, will be screened on June 26 at the auditorium of National Art Plaza of BSA, Segun Bagicha in the city. ‘Ghashful’ will be screened at 7:30 pm.
‘Ghashful’ depicts the story of a 17 year old boy named Taukir, who find a letter in his pocket and can not remember anything about letter’s sender Ghashful. The cast of the film includes Kazi Asif, Saila Sabi, Tania Bisti, Naila Azad Nupur, Manas Mukhopadhoya and many more. The music of the film is directed by Sani Zubayer, while popular singer Priyanka Gope and Sani Zubayer lent their vocals to the songs of the film. Samir Ahmed is in editing and Syed Kashef Shahbazi is in cinematography of the film.
Besides, screening ‘Ghashful’ in the full-length film category, five short films, and one documentary film have been selected for the month of June.  Led by noted filmmaker Syed Salauddin Zaki, a seven-member jury board selected the films among the submitted films from June 1 to 10. The selected short films are ‘Aborodh’ directed by Aminur Rahman Mukul, ‘Smritymoy Barir Mrityu’ by Shrabanta Habib, ‘Dhaka 2012’ by Ashik Rahman, ‘Bibartan’ by Arafatur Rahman, ‘Nipatane Sidhya’ by Sazzat Hossain Shuvo, one documentary film is ‘Bash Pagla’ directed by Muhammad Sazzat Hossain,  which will be screened at 4:30pm at the same venue.
