Bangladesh new pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman kept his debut match momentum to repeat his first match feat. The left-arm pacer went on claim another five-for in the second match on Sunday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket n Mirpur.
He emulated Zimbabwean seamer Brian Vittori feat of taking five-for in his career’s second successive match.
He finished the second match with six for 43.
This cricket wonder boy from Satkhira first stamped his mark in style to steer Bangladesh to a thumping 79 win over former world champions India in the first ODI match in Mirpur on Thursday to surprise the cricket world. But The south paw, who born in India-Bangladesh border area at Tetulia under Kaliganj upazila, mainly bemused the star-studded Indian batting line-up with his off-cutters to take five for 50 in the first match and conceded just 43 runs in the second match . Another Bangladesh promising pacer Taskin Ahmed who also took five-for against the same team last year in his debut match but in a losing cause.
Mustafiz, the youngest among four sons and two daughters of Al-Haj Abul Kashem Gazi and Mahmuda Khatun, in fact hailed from a cricket family.
His elder brother, a territory officer of Grameenphone and second and third brother who are involved in shrimp cultivation business, also used to play cricket for different local teams.
Mustafiz, who is still a student of secondary school, doest not attend his classes regularly rather he goes to play cricket skipping his school. His family members, however, did not stop him to play cricket and rather encouraged him to go with his natural talent.
His father Abul Kashem Gazi now looked to be proud of his son for his heroic performance against India. “Definitely at the moment I’m the happiest man and I feel proud of him who introduced us to all over the country.” He requested the countrymen to pray for his youngest son to continue his devastating performance in the international arena.
However, it was Mokhleshur Rahman, third brother of Mustafiz, who really looked to be the happiest man among his other family members. In fact he guided and inspired him to attend regular practice sessions by taking him to the ground from Tetulia to Satkhira by driving a motorbike for 40 KM.
Mustafiz pays dividend to his brother’s dedication and step by step he represented Satkhira district age-group teams before playing the Under-19 World Cup where he took the second highest number of 19 wickets. Finally he made his debut for the national team by playing against Pakistan in a T20 international and celebrated his entry into international level by taking a couple of crickets.
