Former Principal Secretary to the prime minister Abdus Sobhan Sikder has been appointed as Bangladesh’s new Ambassador to Italy, a foreign ministry press release said yesterday.
He will replace Shahdat Hossain, who has earlier been made Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union.
In his career, Abdus Sobhan Sikder, a member of the BCS (Administration) cadre, also served the government as the senior secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration.
He was also secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Shipping and Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division. He also worked as the director general of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board.
