No shops in front of markets, malls

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) is going to evict makeshifts shops set up in front of shopping centres and some roadside shops with a view to reducing traffic congestion and convenience Eid shopping for buyers during Ramadan.
CMP Commissioner Iqbal Bahar yesterday said this in a meeting held at CMP headquarters with the leaders of businessmen on controlling law and orders during Ramadan.
He said during Ramadan there would not be any shop in front of markets and pavements; it would create obstacles to buyers to enter the shopping centres and also created traffic congestion. The shops would be evicted which creates traffic obstacles, added the CMP boss.
The CMP commissioner urged the leaders of businessmen to give job those people who will become unemployed during Ramadan.
In the views exchanging meeting additional police commissioner (Crime Operation) Devdas Bhattacharya, Masood-ul Hasan and Poritosh Gosh, deputy police commissioners and leaders of businessmen of Chittagong were present.
