Treat Asian Under-18 Basketball qualifying phase (South Asian Zone) will take place from June 1-2 in the capital with India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and host Bangladesh competing in the competition.
The champions of this phase will qualifying in the Asian Junior Basketball Championship to be held in Iran in July 15-24.
Bangladesh will face the top favourites India in the opening match at 8am and Sri Lanka will meet Nepal in the second match at 10am at Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium. IN all four matches will be held in the opening day tomorrow.
AK Sarker, general secretary of the of Bangladesh Basketball Federation and the Secretary General of the South Asian Basketball Association, stated all in a press meet yesterday at the Dutch Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association.
Sarker while talking to the reporters about the prospect to qualify in the final round, said, “Despite huge problem with practice due to trouble with the court, they have in Dhanmondi, which is very much miserable condition, we will try our best.”
“Apart from unprepared court, most of our players are busy with their examination which also hampered the team’s preparation.”
