Mohammedan stay on course

While Prime Doleshwar lost to Abahani Limited in a tense-game at BKSP, Mohammedan brightened the chance to take a solo lead in the DPL point table. Before their match against Cricket Coaching School (CCS) at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium went to the reserve day, they made themselves favourites to win the game by bowling out the opponents for 149 in 24.5 overs. The match was reduced to 25 overs due to the torrential rain. Mohammedan was 13 for no loss in 2.2 overs and required further 136 runs in 22.4 overs.
Fast bowler Shuvashis Roy and Habibur Rahman scythed down the CCS top order in a fine pace bowling effort before Salman Hossain held together the innings. He is the only batsman who fought amid the adversities and helped the side maintain a good strike rate. Salman scored 58 off 52, hitting eight fours. Amit Majumder made 24 while Uttam Sarkar played a fluent 23 runs knock. However Ariful Haque was the most successful bowler for Mohammedan taking three for 29. Habibur Rahman grabbed two.
