NOAKHALI: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya yesterday said all of the cyclone affected needy families are receiving relief as enough foodgrains remain stockpiled in his ministry, reports BSS. The disaster management and relief minister made this comment as the chief guest while he was addressing a meeting of the district disaster management committee to revise rehabilitation programme and estimate damages to those people affected due to cyclonic storm ‘Roanu’. The government will sent all kinds of relief as per the demand of the deputy commissioners, the minister said. Chaired by deputy commissioner Badre Munir Ferdous, the programme was also addressed, among others, by additional secretary of disaster management and relief ministry Reaz Ahmed, district Awami League president and Subarnachar upazila parishad chairman principal Khairul Anam Selim and sadar upazila chairman Shihabuddin Shahin.
Maya expressed his dissatisfaction as the district level officials are yet to visit the cyclone affected areas. The minister asked the district level officials to visit the cyclone affected areas and to determine the extent of damages due to the cyclone.
The minister announced to provide three bundle corrugated sheets and Tk 9,000 as cash to each cyclone affected families at Hatiya, Subarnachar and Companiganj under Noakhali for damaging their household during the cyclone.
