Two assistant presiding officers were killed when a bus rammed a motorcycle they were riding towards a poling centre on the Thakurgaon-Panchagarh highway at Munshirhat in Thakurgaon sadar upazila yesterday, UNB reports. The accident took place around 7:30 am when a Panchagarh-bound ‘Nabil Paribahan’ bus hit a motorcycle carrying Bimal Chandra, 45, a teacher of Kaleshwar Government Primary School, and Firoza Begum, 40, a teacher of Darajgaon Government Primary School, from behind, leaving them dead on the spot, said Mashier Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. The teachers met the tragic end of their life while going to perform their duties at Borogram Government Primary School Centre in Balia union under the 5th phase of UP election. On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to sadar hospital morgue for autopsies.
