Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) is set to start open market sale (OMS) of essential commodities across the country today ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, reports BSS. “A total of 179 trucks -- 32 in Dhaka, 10 in Chittagong, five each in other divisional cities and two each in district towns -- would sell the essential commodities," said TCB Public Relations Officer Humayun Kabir on Thursday. He said a consumer could buy highest 4kg sugar, 2kg lentil, 5 liter soybean oil, 5kg gram and one kg date from the OMS. Each liter of soybean oil would be sold for Taka 80 while Taka 48 has been fixed for a kilogram of sugar, Taka 89.95 for a kilogram of lentil, Taka 70 for a kilogram of gram and Taka 90 for one kilogram of date. TCB would set a target of daily sale of 300-400kgs of sugar, 150-200kgs of lentil, 400-800kgs of gram, 50kgs of date and 300-400 liters of soybean oil at a truck.
