Girl student hacked dead

A girl student was hacked to death and three others were injured in an attack by a local ‘drug addicted’ miscreant at Mohipur area under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila yesterday morning. The deceased was identified as Konika Rani Ghosh,  daughter of Laxman Ghosh of Diar Dhainagar village and a student of class X of Mohipur SM Dwimukhi High School. The injured are Tarin Afroz,  daughter of Abdul Khaleq, Tanjima Akhtar, daughter of Tajemul Haque and Morium Akhtar, 14, daughter of Mokbul Hossain. The locals held the killer Abdul Malek, 28, and handed him over to the police of sadar police station. OC of Chapainawabganj Police Station Mazharul Islam said, Malek attacked them from behind with a sharp weapon while they were returning home from their private tutor’s house at around 8-30 am, leaving them critically injured. The injured were rushed to sadar hospital where doctor declared Konika dead. The three injured girls were sent to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
