AL leader, brother shot dead

Two siblings, including a local Awami League leader, were gunned down by some unknown assailants at Boiddher Barir More in Laxmipur Sadar upazila yesterday noon, reports UNB.
Quoting local people, police said Ibrahim Hossain Ratan, 40, vice-president of Basikpur union unit Awami League and Ismail Hossain Chowdhury, 45, sons of Shafik Ullah, were gossiping at a local tea shop around 12 pm.
At one stage, five miscreants stormed into the shop an opened fire on them, leaving the two brothers dead on the spot.
