The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday interrogated Odhikar Secretary Adilur Rahman Khan in connection with misappropriation of foreign funds, reports UNB.
Odhikar is a Dhaka-based human rights organisation founded in 1994.
ACC Deputy Director Jalal Uddin Ahmed questioned him for half an hour starting from 3pm at the Commission’s head office, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
In 2014, the ACC received an allegation that Odhikar received a huge amount of money from foreign donors showing fake projects and plundered much of it.
According to a senior official of the Commission, the human rights organisation earlier received fund of nearly 100,000 Euros from European Union and the ACC is probing the rights body to find the source of the fund and how it managed to spend the fund.
Earlier, on January 22, 2014, ACC Deputy Director Harunur Rashid also interrogated Adilur in connection with the allegation.
