BCCI delegates to visit Dhaka soon

Sports Reporter

A delegation team of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will come to visit in Dhaka in the next week to discuss the cricket tours and cricketing relation between Bangladesh and India.
During the visit, the forthcoming bilateral series between the two neighbouring countries will get the top priority amongst the agenda. Bangladesh is scheduled to travel India to play their maiden Test tour in August this year.
Bangladesh earlier had inked the members’ participation agreements (MPA) for four series with the BCCI under the 2012-2020 FTP. As per the agreement, India were supposed to tour in Bangladesh in 2014 (only ODIs) and in 2015 for Test and ODIs.
In addition to these tours, Bangladesh will tour in India in 2016 as the latter has slots free after ICC T20 World 2016. Along with that, India has agreed to tour Bangladesh in 2020 to play Tests and ODIs series.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) meanwhile gave a proposal to its Indian counterpart in different times to play a full series with India. They got assurance from the BCCI that they will consider Bangladesh proposal.
Recently, Anurag Thakur took the charge as the new president of the BCCI in place of Shashank Manohar. A delegation team from Bangladesh went to India to greet him.
Thereafter, Dhaka iterated its proposal to newly-appointed president to play a full series during the next visit of Bangladesh team in India in August.
This time Bangladesh got positive response from BCCI, who are sending its delegation in Bangladesh to discuss the matter.
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowhdury Shujan acknowledged the matter and said that an Indian delegation team will come to visit Bangladesh in the next week.
“A delegation team from BCCI will tour in Dhaka in the next week to finalise the itinerary, fixture and time table of the tour. It’s tough to tell anything about the tour, where the number of matches will be increased or not,” said Nizam Uddin Chowdhury.
“We’ve proposed to new BCCI president that it is high time to arrange a full series with India. In response, he told us that yes, you are worthy of getting a full series,” Chowdhury told in response to a query.
