Muezzin hacked in Narayanganj

Miscreants stormed into a mosque and hacked its sleeping muezzin in the city early yesterday, reports UNB from Narayanganj.
The injured—Md Ibrahim, 45, muezzin of Nur Mosque adjacent to Narayanganj Club at Bangabandhu Road and son of late Azizullah of Gobindapur village in Sonargaon upazila in the district—was admitted to Narayanganj 300-beded Hospital with injuries to the head, arms and legs.
Ibrahim said a group of miscreants broke into his room in the mosque early in the morning while he was asleep. The intruders chopped him indiscriminately with sharp weapons and left the scene hurriedly.
Hearing his screams, locals rushed in and took him to the hospital.
