Gaibandha: A trader was stabbed to death allegedly by a drug addict at Sripatipur Bazar in Gobindaganj upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.
Mozammel Haq, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Police Station, said Debesh Chandra Pramanik, owner of a shoe shop, opened his shop around 6 am.
At one stage, drug addict Nepen Chandra, resident of the area, stormed into his shop and tried to snatch some shoes from the shop.
As Debesh tried to prevent Nepen he stabbed Debesh in his neck with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.
Hearing screams, the local people caught Nepen and handed him over to police.
