Pakistan’s Punjab Provintial Assembly yesterday passed a resolution strongly condemning the executions of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leaders on charges of crimes against humanity, ARY News, a Pakistan TV channel said.
The resolution also urged the government of Pakistan to honour the Jamaat leaders with Nishaan-e-Pakistan award, the highest civilian honour in the country. Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Member of Provincial Assembly Allauddin Shaikh moved the resolution against the executions of Jamaat-e-Islami leaders in Bangladesh. “It states that Jamaat leaders are being executed for the pro-Pakistan stance and should be honoured with Nishaan-e-Pakistan award,” said the report quoting the resolution.
