When his father was admitted into Square Hospital being a cardiac patient, Imtiaz Hossain Tanna showed an immense mental strength to continue his job. Braving the mental trauma the Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club opener smashed a brilliant 86 to help his side 49-run win over Kalabagan Cricket Academy yesterday by D/L method. The win also took Doleshwar to the top of the table and Tanna’s 86 made him the highest run-getter of the league so far.
“Only to watch me playing cricket, my father travelled to Dhaka. He has the immense contribution to make me as a cricketer. He is now admitted into Square Hospital where he will have angiogram. Please pray for my father,” said Tanna.
The 31-year has been playing the domestic cricket for the last 14 years but never called up in the national fold. If the country’s cricket culture is concerned, at this age it is tough for him to make the national team but that uncertainty didn’t bar him showing a huge passion for the cricket.
In the last 14 years though he played some good knocks but never could such consistent like this season. As of now he has scored 490 runs with two centuries and four half-centuries, making his presence felt amid the star players.
