A police informer was chopped to death by miscreants in T&T Bazaar area of Tongi in the city yesterday morning, reports BSS.
The deceased was identified as Kutub Uddin, 35, son of Habibur Rahman hailing from Baghaduar in Nowabganj and used to live in a rented house of Majid Miah in Amtoli area of the city.
Family sources said Kutub went out from his house early yesterday morning after receiving a phone call.
Some miscreants chopped Kutub indiscriminately in the area at about 6 am and fled away, local sources said.
Critically injured Kutib was sent to Tongi Hospital. Later he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
