All-rounder Nasir Hossain tipped the break as a great relief for the players and said that it will help the struggling players perform their usual games in the next round games alongside the Super Six matches of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
“The break has given a great relief for the players amidst the scorching heat of the summer. All the players have struggled hard to perform. I think the break and the rest were much-needed for the players ahead of the crucial matches,” said Nasir Hossain, who can bat in different gears on the match situation.
“We have already made our habituation in hot condition as we’ve been playing in Dhaka Premier League since one month. The heat will be no problem for us if we could take a proper rest after playing the games,” Hossain told reporters after their pre-match day practice yesterday at National Cricket Academy.
This year Nasir is playing for Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, who will take on Kalabagan Cricket Academy in the eighth round games at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah. The experienced campaigner said that they all are focused on tomorrow’s match against KCA.
“Tomorrow’s match is important for us because you know we’re in second place at the point table if we could win the match we might be gone onto the top,” the off spinner-batsman, who has control and accuracy in his bowling, thinks.
“Those will be ahead in the point table at group stage they will be much better in Super Six to win the title race. So, all the next matches are equally important. For this we’re very much focused on tomorrow’s match.”
The 24-year-old has batted in five matches though he bowled in seven. He made 231 with the scores of 97, 48*, 35, 14, 37* and scalped five wickets with the best of 2-49. He said that he will try his utmost efforts to perform for the team.
“I’m trying my best to perform well as a batsman, bowler and fielder. I’m not much happy with my performance. I had more options to do better more. Inshaallah, I’ll try to recover it in the next matches,” the hopeful Nasir said.
“I don’t get chance to bat a couple of matches as I’m now batting at No.5 position. I’ve batted as my own will what number of matches I got chance to bat. We’ve some more games of the group phase and then the Super Six ahead of us,” Nasir, who played 17 Tests, 56 ODIs and 31 T20s so far for Bangladesh, signed off.
