Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) emerged champions in the male group of the 33rd National Judo Competition at the Mirpur Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium yesterday.
BGB claimed six gold medals, along with one silver and three bronze. Bangladesh Army became runner-up with nine medals including two gold medals, three silver and four bronze, while Bangladesh Ansar placed third with four medals (one gold, one silver and two bronze medals).
In female group, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) became champions beating their rivals Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Ansar. BKSP struck five gold medals alongside one silver and one bronze. Bangladesh Army won two gold medals, three silver and four bronze to become second, while Bangladesh Ansar placed third with two gold and five bronze medals.
BKSP’s Nazib Hissham Sunny and Ansar’s Nilufa Yesmin were adjudged the best male and female judokas.
