CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Police recovered 350 bottles of phensidyl, 600 grams of hemp, 28 litres of local wine and 23 yaba tablets in separate raids on Friday night and yesterday, reports BSS.
Receiving secret information, a contingent of police from Chapainawabganj Sadar police conducted a raid in old market area of Chapainawabganj town at about 6.30 am yesterday and detained a mini-truck laden with vegetable.
After searching the mini truck police recovered 350 bottles of phensidyl from it.
Police arrested the driver of the truck Abdul Momin, 25, of Niskuli village under Naogaon district and owner of the phensidyl bottles Nazmul Hossain, 32, of Narendrapur under Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila in this connection.
In separate raids on Friday night, police recovered 600 grams of hemp, 28 litres of local wine and 23 yaba tablets and arrested nine persons.
