Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said the teachers never get retired, reports BSS.
“Teachers never get retired...they never get off spreading education, moreover the power of distributing knowledge increased with the passage of time,” he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a check distribution programme among retired teachers of private educational institutes at Teachers Training College in the capital.
The Minister distributed checks of Taka 49.48 crore among 1,137 retired teachers and employees to perform Hajj. “The percentage of school drop-out has reduced for the proper guidance of the teachers to their students,” he said, adding, “Currently 99 percent of students are continuing schools.”
Chairman of Teacher-Employee Welfare Trust and Retirement Benefit Board M Shohrab Hossain presided over the programme.
