Aslam rewarded for Mossad role, says AL leader

Chittagong BNP leader Aslam Chowdhury has been made the party’s central joint secretary general as a reward for working with the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, Awami League (AL) publicity and publication affairs secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud claimed yesterday.
According to Mahmud, Chowdhury was involved in hatching a plot to topple the AL-led government with the help of Mossad. He even visited Israel as part of the conspiracy, Hasan alleged, while addressing a discussion organised by Ganatantrik League at the National Press Club in the city.
Chowdhury was seen with Israel’s (ruling) Likud Party leader, Mendi N Safadi, in India early this month. He was arrested in Dhaka last week on charges of meeting a Mossad agent.
