Augmedix, the world’s first and largest Google Glass-based startup, has declared its Bangladesh office as a “Software Technology Park” and unveiled its future plan to create around 7000 jobs in the health technology sector in Bangladesh within short time, reports BSS.
The announcement was made at a colorful celebration event of Augmedix on its one year operations in Bangladesh held at Augmedix Building on Thursday evening. At the function, they also launched their “new logo” along with new branding of Augmedix Bangladesh office building.
State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the function as the chief guest, while ICT Division Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder and President of Bangladesh Football Federation Kazi Salahuddin were present as special guests.
Ahmadul Hoq, Managing Director, Augmedix BD Ltd, chaired the event.
“Augmedix’s future expansion plans in Bangladesh to create around 7,000 Bangladeshi medical science-related employment for our youths are great and I am pleased to tell you that our ICT Ministry, through LICT programme has signed an agreement to provide all the trained people that Augmedix will ever need,” Palak told the function.
He also said designating the Augmedix Building, as a “Software Technology Park” is another manifestation of the present government’s commitment to attract foreign investment like Augmedix.

This San Francisco based startup has established a firm foothold in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) both in India and Bangladesh.
Augmedix is the world’s first and largest Google Glass based startup, they are revolutionising healthcare by rehumanising the interaction between doctors and patients.
The company has developed a platform for doctors to collect, update and recall patient and other medical data in real-time. They have recently closed a $17 million strategic round of funding which includes investments from 5 leading healthcare systems across the US. Augmedix a “mission-driven” organisation that strives for positive and innovative contributions in the field of healthcare have already raised more than $40 million.
They were recently named the “Most Innovative Healthcare Company in 2016” by Fast Company beating IBM Watson & Johns Hopkins. Augmedix, with around 450 employees worldwide, told Reuters, it serves physicians in more than 30 US States and has plans to expand its services beyond the US as well.
