Benapole: A court in Jessore on Monday sent a union parishad chairman in Abhoynagar upazila of Jessore to jail rejecting his bail prayer in a case for possessing firearms, reports UNB.
Court sources said Paritosh Kumar Mondal, chairman of Sundali union, surrendered before the District Sessions and Judge’s Court and sought bail in the case in the afternoon and Judge Ismael Hossain ordered to send him to jail rejecting the bail prayer.
Paritosh was a charge-sheeted accused in the arms case filed over the murder of Oliar Rahman, joint secretary of the upazila unit AL, who was killed on November 23, 2014.
