Kruif starts third stint as national coach

Dutch coach Lodewijk De Kruif has taken the charge of the Bangladesh football team and this is the third time he is doing the job. This time has been appointed as Bangladesh coach to play their Asian Cup Pre-qualifying matches against Tajikistan.    
Kruif, who left Bangladesh in September last year after a World Cup match against Jordan at home ground, came here yesterday early morning and began the training session at the evening at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.  
Kruif just before going to field, talked to the reporters –“First of all I want to say, big congrats to BFF president who has been reelected  and this is the reason why I’m here.”
“I was not in the country last year. We had several times contacts and about the problems. I think football in Bangladesh last year was in heavy water, when you see the result there is no reason you can be proud of the national team. That is one of the tasks to bring back the feeling we had more than one year ago.”
“Actually, the good feeling how we played and the positive way, concerning also circumstances we have been facing. I know the circumstances. I know how to build up the players in short time. I have the credits from the players and I think this is the important reason for me to come back,” Kruif said replying a query.
Kruif, who actually had a mixed experiences as Bangladesh coach in his last two terms said, “After home game against Tajikistan I will travel back to my country. Somewhere in that period we will talk if the feeling is good we will talk about long term.”
About, how it possible to bring back the glory and do well against Tajikistan in a short time, the Dutch coach mentioning the result of the World Cup qualifying match at home against same opponents, said, “Here in the home game against Tajikistan it was 1-1 and I think we deserved to win the game. Everything was in our hand. We created lot of chances. The only team that was to win was Bangladesh. We have chances.”
Kruif was also positive about bringing back Mamunul, Sohel Rana who were banned from the national side and also positive with Yasin Khan and Jahid Hossain, while Kruif said, “When you want to perform if the place is good, you have to bring some players back. Otherwise no chances.”
“Mamunul is very important because he was the captain. He takes care of instruction and what I want to tell the players. That is very important. So we need him in the team as well as Sohel, because he is lefty. Not too many players in the world are lefty.”
“Zahid and Yeasin, I know them both very well. They need more time to coming back to game again. At this moment we can drop them but in the future both players are still best players of the country. When you have to kick out the best players of your country then you are crazy,” said Kruif.
