Orientation and Rabindra Jayanti held at SUB
CHITTAGONG: The orientation programme for the newly admitted students of English Department for summer semester 2016 of Southern University Bangladesh (SUB) and Rabindra Jayanti were held at the university auditorium yesterday.
Md Nurul Mustafa, vice-chancellor of the SUB, was the chief guest and Pro Vice-Chancellor Md Sharifuzzaman; Registrar Montajul Islam spoke on the occasion as special guests while AZM Shamsuzzaman Khan presided over the programme.
Nurul Mustafa in his speech highlighted various facilities provided by the university, while AZM Shamsuzzaman Khan urged the students to be attentive and regular from the very beginning of their course for a good result. First phase of the programme was moderated by Tanjila Ilyas, lecturer of English department of the SUB while Ranjan Barua, Shafin Md John, assistant professors, Saimuna Train, Umme Arafat Siddiqua Chowdhury lecturers of the department were present among others. The second phase, Rabindra Jayanti was moderated by Shimul Bhattacharjee, lecturer of English department while the students of the department performed music and poetry recitations.

BUP sign MoU with RA Hospital
Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the colorectal specialised RA Hospital, Education and Training Institute Dhaka (RAHETID) aiming to cooperate in the field of education and research.
Vice Chancellor of BUP Major General Sheikh Mamun Khaled and president and CEO of RAHETID Professor Raqibul Anwar, signed the MoU on behalf of their organisations at the BUP central conference room in Mirpur Cantonment yesterday.
Both the parties pledged to co-operate each other, especially modern education for Armed Forces Doctor and contribute to develop the country as well. Moreover, after successful completion of the education training from RAHETID Armed Forces Doctors will get scholarship from Royal College of Surgeons of England for progressive training. This MoU between BUP and RAHETID for the first time in Bangladesh have created opportunity to take modern medical education by Scholarship.
