RANGPUR: Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has said all necessary steps would be taken for freeing Rangpur city from traffic jam, drug and terrorism in near future, reports BSS.
"I seek sincere cooperation of the city dwellers to attain these goals," Jhantu, also a valiant freedom fighter, said this while presiding over a views-sharing meeting at his
conference room on Monday afternoon, a press release said here yesterday. Panel Mayor of RpCC Golam Kabir Kajol delivered welcome speech in the meeting organised for the civil society members on 'Resisting illegal occupation of footpaths and roads in different areas of Rangpur city.'
Additional District Magistrate AKM Maruf Hassan, Executive Magistrate of RpCC SM Golam Kibria, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana ABM Zahidul Islam, General Secretary of City Shop Owners' Association Rezaul Islam Milan, journalist Abdus Sahed, Member-secretary of district unit of Community Policing Shushanto Bhowmick, among others, spoke.
