Awami League (AL) leaders have again alleged that the BNP has joined hands with the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, to oust the Sheikh Hasina government.
After having failed to oust the government by carrying out violent activities and secret killings, the BNP is now seeking Mossad's help. But its evil attempt will not succeed, AL leaders said.
They were addressing a meeting, jointly organised with the Dhaka city unit AL, at the auditorium of Dhaka Mahanagar Natyamancha, yesterday (Saturday). It was held to make party president Sheikh Hasina’s homecoming day a success.
The ruling party will organise a discussion, marking the day, at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city on May 17. On Friday, the BNP had rejected the AL leaders’ allegations, and said the party has no links with Israel and its intelligence agency, Mossad.
Speaking as chief guest at yesterday's programme, AL presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim said the BNP speaks about the spirit of Islam, and at the same time joins hands with Israel and its intelligence agency, who are enemies of Islam.
He said the BNP is plotting with Mossad to come to power. And if it does, it will recognise Israel as a legitimate state. But its dream will not be fulfilled till a leader or an activist of the AL is alive.
About Pakistan’s interference in the internal affairs of Bangladesh, senior AL leader Sheikh Selim said the government would cut off relations with Pakistan, if that country continued to meddle.
Speaking at the same programme, AL joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif alleged that although Bangladesh has no diplomatic relations with Israel, a top BNP leader held a meeting with Mossad recently. This proves that the party has links with the Jewish state.
