83 joint secretaries promoted

The public administration ministry yesterday promoted a total of 83 Joint Secretary (JS) to the post of Additional Secretary. All of them were deprived of getting the post of Additional Secretary during a recent promotion. Of them, one is from the BCS administration cadre 1982 special batch, eight from 1984 batch, 12 from 1985 batch and the rest are from other cadres of different batches. After the promotion, all of them have been made Officers on Special Duty under the Public Administration Ministry, according to a notification issued by the ministry yesterday. Meanwhile, Sampad Barua, Personal Secretary to the president was appointed as secretary of the Presidents Secretariat while the secretary to the president, Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam, was made a member of the Privatization Commission yesterday. Meanwhile, Secretary of Statistics and Informatics Division Kaniz Fatema has been transferred as Director General (DG) of National Academy for Planning and Development while DG of National Academy for Planning and Development KM Muzammel Haque has been transferred as secretary of Statistics and Informatics Division. The DG of Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division, Zuyena Aziz, has been made an acting member of the Planning Commission. The Public Administration ministry issued notifications in this regard yesterday.
