In a mass robbery, bandits looted at least 23 vehicles placing barricade on the Sontoshpur-Andulbaria road in Jibannagar upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.
At least 25 people were injured by the bandits during the incident.
Of the injured, Jakir Hossain,44, Liton,35, Saidur Rahman,50, Chanchal,27, Ruhul,26, Kamrul,22, Enamul Haque,22 and Avi Sarkar,23, were admitted to Jibannagar health complex.
Locals said the bandits placed barricade on the road in the dead of night and looted valuables and cash from the passengers of the 23 vehicles, including goods-laden trucks.
Contacted, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jibannagar police station Golam Mohammad said they were trying to arrest the criminals.
