A memorandum of understanding (MoU) among the D-8 (developing eight) member countries would be signed soon to use the potentiality of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), reports BSS.
The decision came on the proposal of Bangladesh Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at the concluding session of the 5th Ministerial Meeting on D-8 Industrial Cooperation at Cairo in Egypt yesterday, said a press release yesterday.
Prime Minister of Egypt Sherif Ismail was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
Amir Hossain Amu said the D-8 member countries can play a vital role on world economy and the countries can achieve self-reliant by increasing the inter trade relation among them.
He urged the D-8 member countries to work together for using the huge potentialities in various sectors including automobile, petrochemical, ceramic, ispat, textile, shipbuilding, Information technology, telecommunication and apparel sectors.
He said Bangladesh has achieved remarkable progress in various sectors including growth, employment, poverty alleviation and per capita income under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Bangladesh is now moving forward to achieve the next development agenda in sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he added.
