CHITTAGONG: A total of 1,02261 students came out successful in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations under Chittagong Education Board (CEB) this year with the increase of both percentage of pass and number of GPA-5 scorers, reports.
According to results of the SSC-2016 published here yesterday, the percentage of pass in CEB is 90.44, which is 7.67 per cent higher than the previous year.
The percentage of pass in the last year was 82.77 A total of 7,666 students secured GPA-5 this year and 7,116 in last year, while Chittagong Collegiate School ranks the top in the best 10 institutions under CEB this year.
Of the total 3,932 male students got GPA--5 while 3,734 female students got GPA-5. Only 6.78 per cent of the total students who appeared in the examination obtained GPA-5. Among the successful, the male students are 47,432 while female students are 54,828.
Government Muslim High School and Dr Khastagir government Girls High School secured the second and third position respectively while Nasirabad Government Girls High School, Nasirabad Government Boys High School became 4th and 5th position respectively in the top 10 institutions.
A total of 24,649 students from science group, 30,661 from humanities group and 57,759 from business administration group from 998 institutions participated in the examination through 169 centers under the CEB.
OURCORRESPONDENT add from Rajshahi: A total of 95.70 per cent examinees came out successful in Secondary Certificate (SSC) Examinations-2016 held under Rajshahi Education Board (REB).
The total number of appeared examinees was 1,52,783 of which 1,45,518 came out successful.
The percentage of pass of female students was 95.87 whereas the percentage for pass of male students was 95.55 per cent.
A total of 9,405 male students scored GPA-5 while the number of female GPA-5 recipients is 8,189 totaling 17,594 this year.
Professor Shamsul Kalam Azad, Controller of Rajshahi Education Board has expressed his satisfaction at the result of SSC and expressed his gratitude to all concerned related to hold examinations and to prepare results.
Earlier, on Wednesday noon, the result of SSC was formally declared through a press conference held at REB auditorium.
Presided over by, Dr Anarul Haque Pramanik, Secretary of REBthe press conference was attended among others, Inspector of Colleges Tarun Kumar Sarker, Inspector of Schools Debashis Ranjan Ray, Head Assessment Officer SM Golam Azam, Senior System Analyst Engineer Shafiqul Islam and PRO AFM Khairul Islam.

year.
Milestone College achieved cent percent success in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations under Dhaka Education Board, says a press release.
This year, a total 1009 students (Bangla and English version) took part in SSC examinations from the Milestone College. Among them 603 students scored GPA-5 and 406 students got A-Grade.
Total of 842 students appeared from science group, 579 scored GPA-5 and 263 students got A Grade while 167 students appeared from commerce group and 24 students scored GPA-5 and 143 students scored A grade.
Principal of Milestone College Prof Md Shahidul Islam said it is really a remarkable achievement. He thanked all teachers, students and guardians. He said Milestone is committed to ensure quality education that can help a student be an ideal person and ensures the optimum use of its resources to facilitate academic excellence.
