The International Crimes Tribunal will deliver its verdict any day against three people of Habiganj for their alleged crimes against humanity during the country’s Liberation War in 1971, reports UNB.
They are-Mahibor Rahman alias Boro Mia, Mujibur Rahman alias Angur Mia and Abdur Razzak of Baniachang upazila of Habiganj
district.
Hearing the law point arguments from both the prosecution and the defence lawyers, the three-member ICT, headed by its chairman Justice M Anwarul Haque, passed the order in presence of the accused.
Advocate Golam Kibria, Masud Rana and Mohammad Pervez stood for the three war crimes accused while Advocate Sultan Mahmud Shimon, Tapash Kanti Bol and Chaman Ara represented the state.
All the three Razakars were charged with murder, rape, kidnapping, torture and arson attack during the Liberation War.
On February 11, 2014, Nur Hossain, investigation officer of the case, started investigation against the three.
Police arrested them from their respective houses on February 10, 2015.
On September 29, 2015, the tribunal took cognisance of the case filed against the three accused.
